If you’ve never used a Kukri, it is hard to understand how much more comfortable it is when chopping heavy wood, than a straight blade. The geometry takes the shock of impact away from your hand and wrist, greatly reducing fatigue when chopping hard material, such as logs. Yet, when it is time to slash grass, brush, vines, and small limbs, the long cutting edge is ready to work efficiently–unlike a hatchet. Also, it is easier to keep accessible for a quick draw. And it makes a pretty good draw knife.
