Galatians 5:1 “It is for freedom that Christ set us free. Stand firm and do not submit again to the yoke of slavery.”
Then said Jesus to those who believed on Him,
“If you continue in My word, then you are My disciples indeed;
And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” (John 14:6)
They answered Him, “We are Americans, and were never enslaved to anyone. How do You say that we shall be made free?”
Jesus answered them, “Verily, verily I say unto you: Anyone who commits sin is the slave and prisoner of sin, bound with the cords of his sin. (Proverbs 5:22) The slave, the prisoner, can be abandoned or destroyed at any time (Isaiah 51:14), but the Son remains forever. He has all power and authority to free the slaves and prisoners. (Luke 4:18, Matthew 28:18) So, if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.” John 8:31-36, adapted.
