Finer Points

Custom option: clipped point

6-inch Lightweight with its point clipped

As most of you are aware, most of my knives are of the drop-point style.  There are a variety of reasons for preferring the drop point.  But, one advantage is, that it is quite easy and possible (at least in most cases) to “clip” the point if a finer tip is desired.

Leon Pantenburg at survivalcommonsense.com sent his 6-inch Lightweight Full Tang knife back for this treatment.  It gives the knife a whole new look, and it would certainly make a better splinter-picker!

I’d be happy to do this for you, too.  Let me know if you want the top left flat, if you want a “false edge” (not sharp), or a “swedge” (sharp).
